We offer education from Grade 8 through to Grade 10. In 2026, we will be supporting Grade 11 learners and in 2027, Grade 12. From 2028, we will be supporting learners from Grades 8-12.

Our school typically operates from 07:30 to 15:30, Monday to Friday. Specific schedules may vary for different grade levels and co-curricular seasons.

Our CAPS-aligned curriculum balances academic excellence with personal development. Through our blended learning program, we equip students with 21st-century skills, combining technology-driven instruction with teacher-led support to ensure personalised learning and academic success.
We offer a full range of subjects, including Mathematics, Sciences, Languages, History, Geography, Creative Arts, Technology, and EMS, fostering a comprehensive and well-rounded education. Our interdisciplinary approach integrates subjects, enabling students to apply knowledge across disciplines—for example, linking scientific concepts with mathematical calculations and real-world insights from Geography.
We place a strong focus on character-building workshops that nurture values such as resilience, empathy, and self-discipline. These workshops, alongside personal growth sessions and project-based learning, help students develop a strong sense of self and the skills needed to thrive academically and socially.

The average student-to-teacher ratio is 1: 15, which ensures individualised attention for each student in a supportive learning environment.

We offer a variety of co-curricular activities, including drama, netball, soccer, swimming, and choir, designed to encourage the development of students’ talents and interests beyond the classroom. These activities foster creativity, teamwork, and personal growth, helping students build confidence and explore their potential.

To apply, follow these steps:
Complete the Application Form: Submit the form along with all required supporting documents.
Pay the Application Fee: Include proof of payment for the non-refundable application fee when submitting your documents.
Student Diagnostic Tests: After reviewing your application, we will invite your child to complete diagnostic tests in English, Mathematics, and Science to help us understand their unique learning needs.
Debrief and Intervention Plan: Following the tests, we will schedule a debrief session with you to share the results and discuss a tailored intervention plan, if needed.
Acceptance Letter: If your child is accepted, we will send an official acceptance letter to confirm their place at our school.

School Fees for the Year are:
Grade 8: R13,000
Grade 9: R14,500
Grade 10: R16,000
Fees are payable annually or in 10 consecutive installments per month as per our payment plan options. For more details, please contact our administration office.

At this point, we do not offer any financial assistance or scholarships.

Student safety is our top priority. We have regular safety inspections and drills to strengthen and mitigate any possibility of unsafe conditions for our learners. We have 24/7 security staff, visitor screening, emergency drills, etc on a termly basis.

At Streetlight Schools, we prioritise clear and consistent communication with parents. We use WhatsApp parent groups for regular updates and announcements, while newsletters are sent for more formal information. Termly parent-teacher consultations provide an opportunity for in-depth feedback on your child’s academic journey. Additionally, one-on-one meetings with students and/or guardians are held on a rolling basis, as needed, to address specific concerns or provide extra support. This communication system ensures that parents are actively engaged and well-informed throughout the school year.

Yes, we welcome parent involvement! Parents can volunteer in various ways, including assisting with events, joining committees, and contributing to school growth. Parents can also participate in brainstorming sessions on recruitment and strategies to expand our school community. We value your insights and encourage you to be part of these conversations!

If your child will be absent, please inform us as soon as possible via WhatsApp at 0663842249 or notify the designated grade coordinators.
In line with our attendance policy, students are expected to complete any online work from home, if their circumstances allow them to. If they are unable to do so, please inform us, and we will make arrangements for make-up work once they return.

Yes, students are required to wear a school uniform to promote a sense of community and pride. The uniform consists of a grey skirt or trousers, a white shirt, a tie, black shoes, and grey socks for boys, and white socks for girls. The blazer, pullover, and tie must be purchased from McCullagh & Bothwell, located at 15 Eckstein Street, Observatory. You can visit their website at https://mcandb.co.za for more information.
For specific guidelines on how the uniform should be worn, including acceptable accessories, please refer to the Student Code of Conduct. We kindly ask that parents ensure students adhere to these guidelines.
